CIMC Raffles and European Maritime Finance (EMF) celebrate the name giving of EMF\u2019s latest two PCTC vessels, each capable of carrying 7,000 cars with long term partner Atlas Maritime. The ceremony was held at the CIMC Raffles Yard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The purpose of a name giving is a public celebration, solemn blessings and invite good luck for the ship, its crew and its passengers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

1828, was the first written record of a female christening a ship and 1890 was the first mention of the use of a champagne bottle in the ceremony. The most famous verse for name givings:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Psalm 107\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cThey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters, these see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

At the ceremony, we convert a lot of hard work of technical drawings, calculations, inspections, investors, bankers, partners and associates to build the sustainable IMO rated \u201cA\u201d class Eco vessels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

EMF would like to thank the Godmothers for their long term commitment to the good will of the vessels and Martin Haugaard, our founder, who\u2019s unwavering commitment, dedication and vision was critical to the success of the project.<\/span><\/p>

The vessel names are Electric Star (H578) and Green Star (H579). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Congratulations to the new crews and the vessel Godmothers. We would like to thank the shipyard for a job well done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
