Regardless of the outcome, the tanker market is positioned to benefit. As noted by Alexander Saverys, CEO of Belgium\u2019s CMB Group: \u201c<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">So actually, the Iran story, in our view, can only be positive for the tanker sector<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div><div><p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Two favorable outcomes \u2013 in a nutshell:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">If <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">sanctions remain<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, oil will continue to be shipped from alternative regions like the Atlantic Basin and the Middle East, supporting long haul demand and boosting tonne miles especially for the larger crude carriers.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">If <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">sanctions are lifted<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, Iranian crude will return to the regular market and be carried by compliant (white fleet) tankers.
