Brent olje falt 9 prosent fra forrige uke til USD 100,3 per fat som f\u00f8lge av optimisme rundt en mulig v\u00e5penhvile, noe som la press p\u00e5 fraktratene. Spotratene reflekterte usikkerheten i markedet, hvor Suezmax falt til rundt USD 121 000 per dag og Aframax til rundt USD 88 000 per dag. Selv om niv\u00e5ene er lavere enn forrige uke, er ratene fortsatt meget sterke historisk sett.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>LPG\/VLGC:<\/strong> <strong>Inntjeningen n\u00e5r rekordniv\u00e5er mens Atlanterhavsbassenget absorberer asiatisk ettersp\u00f8rsel<br \/><\/strong>VLGC markedet har g\u00e5tt inn i historisk sterke niv\u00e5er. Spotinntjeningen p\u00e5 ruten US Gulf til Asia n\u00e5dde rundt USD 170 000 per dag tidlig i mai, det h\u00f8yeste niv\u00e5et som noen gang er registrert. Dette skjer samtidig som amerikansk LPG eksport steg 20 prosent fra m\u00e5neden f\u00f8r til rekordh\u00f8ye 7 millioner tonn i april. Situasjonen i Panamakanalen har samtidig blitt betydelig mer krevende, hvor ventetidene har mer enn doblet seg. Det ansl\u00e5s at rundt 50 prosent av LPG lastene fra USA til Asia n\u00e5 g\u00e5r via Kapp det gode h\u00e5p, noe som binder opp betydelig skipkapasitet og holder den effektive tilbudssiden sv\u00e6rt stram.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>PCTC:<\/strong> <strong>Ettersp\u00f8rselen vokser bredere n\u00e5r High and Heavy kommer i tillegg til elbilveksten<br \/><\/strong>Ratene for bilskip holdt seg stabile p\u00e5 USD 55 000 per dag for moderne Panamax tonnasje. Samtidig blir ettersp\u00f8rselsbildet stadig bredere enn bare personbiler. Sj\u00f8transport av anleggsmaskiner fra Asia \u00f8kte med 31 prosent p\u00e5 \u00e5rsbasis i f\u00f8rste kvartal, noe som gir et robust tillegg til allerede sterke eksportvolumer av kinesiske elbiler og hybrider. Netto fl\u00e5tevekst ventes \u00e5 avta kraftig mot slutten av ti\u00e5ret, noe som peker mot et strukturelt sterkt ratemarked p\u00e5 mellomlang sikt.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Geopolitikk:<\/strong> <strong>H\u00e5pet om v\u00e5penhvile svekkes mens forstyrrelsene i Hormuz g\u00e5r inn i en ny fase<br \/><\/strong>Brent olje falt kraftig til USD 100,3 per fat denne uken etter at markedet kortvarig priset inn h\u00e5p om v\u00e5penhvile. Optimismen forsvant raskt da samtalene mellom USA og Iran kollapset, samtidig som et s\u00f8rkoreansk skip ble skadet n\u00e6r Fujairah. Trafikken gjennom Hormuzstredet er fortsatt sv\u00e6rt lav med et gjennomsnitt p\u00e5 kun ni skip per dag i mai, ned fra 13 i april og langt under normalen f\u00f8r konflikten p\u00e5 rundt 125 skip daglig. Enkelte LNG skip med tilknytning til Qatar har passert stredet for f\u00f8rste gang p\u00e5 to m\u00e5neder, men eksporten av r\u00e5olje er fortsatt minimal med anslagsvis 6 millioner fat per uke mot normalt rundt 105 millioner fat. Saudi Aramco arbeider med \u00e5 \u00f8ke eksportkapasiteten ved Yanbu, men alternativene via R\u00f8dehavet er fortsatt ikke tilstrekkelige til \u00e5 kompensere for bortfallet fra Gulfen.
