Asiatiske raffinerier henter n\u00e5 erstatningsvolumer fra Mexicogulfen, og enkelte Suezmax skip har til og med seilt gjennom Panamakanalen til Asia, en rute som n\u00e6rmest var utenkelig f\u00f8r konflikten. Inntjeningen for VLCC skip steg til over 240 000 dollar per dag i mars og har holdt seg over 200 000 dollar per dag gjennom mai. Omtrent 59 VLCC skip, tilsvarende rundt 8 prosent av den ikke sanksjonerte fl\u00e5ten, befinner seg fortsatt vest for stredet. Samtidig har lengre seilingsdistanser for \u00e5 dekke den samme ettersp\u00f8rselen f\u00f8rt til en betydelig reduksjon i den effektive fl\u00e5tekapasiteten, selv om de totale oljevolumene har falt.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Et rammeverk for v\u00e5penhvile er p\u00e5 plass, men gjen\u00e5pningen vil ta tid<br \/><\/strong>25 Mai annonserte USA og Iran et rammeverk som forlenger v\u00e5penhvilen med 60 dager mens stredet minesveipes og gradvis \u00e5pnes igjen. Dette representerer den mest troverdige veien tilbake til normalisering siden konflikten startet.
