Kanalen h\u00e5ndterer mer enn en femtedel av verdens LPG handel og har siden mars operert n\u00e6r maksimal kapasitet med rundt 40 passeringer per dag.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ventetidene har \u00f8kt til om lag 50 timer, samtidig som kostnaden for \u00e5 sikre seg en auksjonsplass har tredoblet seg til rundt 400 000 dollar. De lengre k\u00f8ene har f\u00f8rt til at flere transporter fra USA til Asia velger ruten rundt Kapp det gode h\u00e5p, en seilas som kan v\u00e6re opptil 70 prosent lengre. Dette har bidratt til \u00e5 l\u00f8fte tonnmil ettersp\u00f8rselen og st\u00f8ttet de rekordh\u00f8ye VLGC inntektene.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>En v\u00e6ravhengig st\u00f8ttespiller som rederne b\u00f8r f\u00f8lge n\u00f8ye<br \/><\/strong>Panamakanalen representerer n\u00e5 et ekstra lag med st\u00f8tte for markedet, i tillegg til effektene fra Hormuz. Samtidig finnes det flere forhold som kan p\u00e5virke kapasiteten p\u00e5 kort sikt.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planlagt vedlikehold vil redusere antall passeringer mellom 9. og 17. juni. I tillegg peker v\u00e6rprognoser mot en mulig El Ni\u00f1o periode som kan vare inn i andre halvdel av 2026. Lavere vanniv\u00e5er kan da begrense kapasiteten helt inn i 2027, p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5te som under El Ni\u00f1o hendelsen i 2023 og 2024, da trafikken gjennom kanalen i perioder l\u00e5 opptil 40 prosent under normale niv\u00e5er.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Risikoen ser forel\u00f8pig ut til \u00e5 v\u00e6re p\u00e5 oppsiden for tonnmil ettersp\u00f8rselen.
