The Republic of Egypt Ambassador Sherif to the Kingdom of Denmark visits European Maritime Finance Copenhagen Headquarters

Denmark, Copenhagen – 31 January 2025.

European Maritime Finance had the pleasure to host the Ambassador Sherif in their corporate headquarters. The new office is located in the former Maersk Global Headquarters.

Egypt is the second largest economy in Africa. Egypt’s geography makes the country an important maritime hub in global trade.

Egypt also owns and controls the Suez Canal, the most important global water way. The Suez Canal was built in 1869 and expanded significantly in 2015. More than 20,000 vessels sail through the canal annually.

Ambassador Sherif recognized European Maritime Finance efforts in the transition to greener shipping solutions and talked about the importance of the relationship between Egypt and Denmark. Egypt currently has many new projects supporting the supply of greener fuels being constructed along the canal.

Ambassador Sherif talked about the recent positive security changes of the canal and expects to resume normal commercial conditions in the very near future.

European Maritime Finance was honored to host Ambassador Sherif to our new office, valuable strategic Suez Canal insights and its return to normal commercial conditions.
