Strengthening EMF’s governance with deep expertise from the financial sector

We are pleased to welcome Bjarne Thorup to the Board of Directors.

He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial sector, with an extensive background in asset management, investments, and corporate governance. During his executive career, he served as Chief Investment Officer and member of the executive management team at Nykredit Asset Management, BankInvest, Saxo Asset Management, and Invensure. He has also held several board positions within the investment fund industry, including at SEB Invest.

Today, Bjarne serves as an independent board member and chairman of several private equity fund companies within Maj Invest. His experience includes investment funds, wealth management, governance, and the oversight of regulated financial institutions.

Bjarne holds an MSc in Finance and an Executive MBA from Copenhagen Business School. He has also completed executive and board education programmes at INSEAD, Stanford University, and Copenhagen Business School.

His experience in investment management, governance, and board leadership provides additional expertise to the Board of Directors.
