Klaus Kjærulff has spent most of his professional 33 years at Torm, where he has held various positions including Head of the Tanker Division and CEO from 2000 to 2008.
Today, Klaus Kjærulff is a partner in Vincent Shipping in Oslo, Chairman of Skuld, member of the board of NTR Holding and Chairman of the board of European Maritime Finance.
Vice Chairman of the Board
European Maritime Finance has appointed Peter Kubicki to its Board of Directors. He brings more than 35 years of international leadership experience across investment banking, asset management, wealth management and hedge funds.
Peter Kubicki is a results-oriented leader with strong commercial insight and extensive experience from senior executive, board and advisory roles across leading financial companies, strengthening EMF’s strategic and governance capabilities.

Ulrikke Ekelund has +25 years of experience primarily from the financial sector, 17 of them in leadership positions.
Ulrikke has a master’s degree in political science, was chief economist at BRFkredit and SVP at PensionDanmark, and has worked in the intersection of economics, communication and stakeholder management.
She is a non-executive board member at European Maritime Finance, Finansiel Stabilitet, Floating Power Plant, SunStone Maritime Group A/S and Varefakta Foundation, Chair of Advisory Board Communication and representative of the Shareholder Agreement at Floating Power Plant, member of the board of Representatives at Realdania, delegate at AP Pension and member at the Regional Advisory Board of Arbejdernes Landsbank.
Co-founder and Board Member
Martin Almdal is co-founder of EMF and has solid experience in project finance and maritime investment, with a clear focus on sustainability.
With more than 26 years of experience in project finance and a decade dedicated to marine investments, his deep insight into capital markets and strategic leadership since 2014 has strengthened his position as a well- respected expert in the maritime sector.
Martin has also worked on selected property projects, but his primary focus is on maritime finance and investment, highlighting his international credibility and visionary approach.

Attorney Rune Aagaard is a Partner in Mazanti-Andersen. Rune Aagaard has considerable experience from the shipping and transport sector, including legal matters within purchase and sale, chartering and financing of ships, shipbuilding and shipbuilding contracts, as well as financing and corporate law.

Karen is responsible for the company’s risk management framework, overseeing the entire risk lifecycle and ensuring full alignment with Danish and EU AIFMD requirements. She provides independent reporting to senior management and the Board, supporting consistent risk oversight, disciplined investment decisions, and the protection of investor interests.
Karen brings over 25 years of experience in financial institutions, central banking, and alternative investments. She has a proven track record in risk governance and reporting, and managing risk in complex and regulated environments, including serving as Head of Risk Management at Selected Group and holding senior roles at Danske Bank, Saxo Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Director of Compliance
Louise brings extensive experience from both the public and private financial sectors. Most recently, she spent eight years at Forenet Kredit as Chief Legal Officer, overseeing governance, board support, and regulatory matters, including compliance. Prior to that, she worked for seven years at the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet), including in the Legal Department, where she was closely involved in legislative processes. Louise has also held compliance roles at Danske Bank and Alm. Brand Bank.

Martin is Head of the Investment Advisory Board and has a 10 year track record of international network and vessel investing. He is advices the investment process.
Martin is a company owner that has founded international companies for more than two decades. This includes development within Danish real estate and vessel investing at European Maritime Finance A/S.
Vice Chairman of the Investment Advisory Board
Alan has 20+ years of experience with structuring and management of investment products.
Alan has held several management positions in the EMF Group incl. CFO, Board Member, Compliance Officer and Portfolio Manager. Responsibilities include structuring investments in more than $1.9 bill. Vessel investments.
Managing Director of Green Transition
Stephen is Director of Green Transition for the Investment Advisory board.
Stephen has a background as Chief Commercial Officer at Mærsk with responsibility for 388 offices in 160 countries and member of the Executive Board. He has also been CEO for Safmarine Shipping Line. He was previously Head of Global Sales and Marketing at Microsoft and Head of Global Operations at Procter & Gamble.
Investment Advisory Board Member
Torben is CIO at EMF A/S. He has more than 30 years of experience from shipping and an extensive international network.
Torben has held several top management positions at global shipping companies like SVP at TORM, EVP at Hafnia Tankers and Navig8 Chemical Tankers. Torben was part of the management team founding Hafnia Tankers, which has developed into a global shipping company.
