Stephen Schueler has been appointed to the Investment Committee of the World Maritime University (WMU) Endowment Fund. He will serve as one of five members of the committee, following his appointment by the WMU Board of Governors on the recommendation of the Executive Board.
Established in 1983 with the support of the International Maritime Organization (IMO),a specialized agency of the United Nations, the World Maritime University is recognized as the IMO’s leading center for postgraduate education, research, and capacity development in the maritime and ocean sectors. WMU’s mission advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering knowledge and expertise essential to the sustainable future of global shipping and ocean governance.
In a letter announcing the appointment, Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the IMO and Chancellor of the WMU, stated:
“Your participation will support the World Maritime University’s objectives and will facilitate the development of the University’s plans.”
