The Event celebrated the independence of Egypt and the transition of the Suez Canal to Egypt in 1956. The Suez Canal is 193.3 kilometers long (120.11 mi) and is a key route between Europe and Asia. The canal was completed in 1869, 155 years ago. The canal enables the journey transit reduction by 8,900 kilometers (5,500 miles).
